Writing a good report is difficult, reading one shouldn’t be!
We pour time and energy into reports because they matter: they capture results, lessons, and ideas that deserve to be seen. Yet too often, they end up looking like any other bland, unassuming document. Pages of uninterrupted text blur together, and the messages you most want to highlight gets lost.
With smart structure, clear visuals, and good design, I turn reports into documents that celebrate success. Showcasing your achievements instead of burying them in text.
Your audience wants to hear what you achieved, don’t be afraid to tell them loud and proud.
Visualising why happy families make happy diplomats
Belgium’s diplomats are sent abroad by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and are often accompanied by their families. These families felt neglected by the Ministry. Together with the BeFamily, the association for diplomatic families, I collected information from the families, analysed the data, summarised it into a comprehensive report with clear recommendations, and visualised the results to make it stand out in a world of official reports and bureaucratic paperwork.
The result is a document I enjoyed reading through, but more importantly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs liked it too! The publication’s recommendations were warmly endorsed by the Minister and implemented shortly afterwards.
The reason behind this success wasn’t only because we made it look good, it was also because we aligned the text and visuals with the advocacy objectives of BeFamily and voiced them in function of the needs of the Ministry.
